Course Overview:

This course examines the relationship between endodontic access design and restorative principals, the conundrum that creates and how it impacts the long term success of the tooth. It will explore how new instruments design driven by dentin conservation considerations is creating a new paradigm in endodontic shaping and access design. The new, more conservative “look” of endodontic treatment based on dentin conservation will be presented.

Course Objectives:

  1. Discuss and illustrate the concept of materials driving restorative design
  2. Discuss and illustrate the subtle areas of concavity and thin dentine in molar and premolar teeth
  3. Discuss and illustrate the need for dentin conservation in endodontics
  4. Discuss and illustrate how attention to dentin conservation creates a new endodontic access paradigm
