About The Webinar
Laser assisted endodontics is becoming more common and accepted in dentistry. Many protocols exist without much consensus. More research studies are being conducted to support and verify protocols. There is good reason to embrace lasers in endodontics due to the claims of biofilm disruption; antibacterial effects deeper into dentin; enhanced debridement of isthmuses, lateral canals, and dentinal tubules; increased effectiveness of irrigating solutions; and more. Compared to syringe irrigation, endosonic and ultrasonic units, laser assisted endodontics, through the action of photoacoustics, offers a more effective means of debridement and disinfection of the root canal system. In this webinar we will explore laser assisted endodontic concepts and techniques and review current protocols and their rationale for use.
Learning Objectives:
- Review current protocols for laser assisted endodontics and explain their rationale for implementation.
- Discuss “holistic”, mechanical, and chemical approaches to disinfection using the EdgePro.
- Discuss variations of current laser assisted protocols.
- Demonstrate how lasers in endodontics can be used with safety in mind to increase confidence and usage.
- Discuss treatment complications in laser assisted endodontics such as excessive bleeding, and micro ledging and how to avoid them
About The Presenter
Dr. Fernando Meza
Dr. Fernando Meza is a graduate of Vanderbilt University, where he received his B.A. in Psychology in 1997.
