Carestream Dental Makes It Easy for Endodontists at AAE Annual Session

SAN FRANCISCO—From the latest technology to continuing education, Carestream Dental makes it easy for endodontists to make precise diagnoses and achieve success in treating patients.

“Specialists, such as endodontists, have always led the way in adopting new technology; however, Carestream Dental does more than simply offer doctors the latest equipment and software,” Jordan Reiss, national sales director, 3D imaging, Carestream Dental, said. “We provide countless educational opportunities, support and services geared towards endodontists to ensure they’re using our technology to their greatest advantage.”

So, just in time for the American Association of Endodontist’s Annual Session, here are the top five ways Carestream Dental supports endodontists and their important work.

  1. Continuing education: With the rate technology changes, it’s more important than ever that specialists keep up with the latest techniques and equipment to best treat their patients. Carestream Dental offers 3D hands-on courses so endodontists can see for themselves how 3D imaging changes the way they practice. In fact, Carestream Dental is hosting two hands-on 3D courses at AAE 2016 and sponsoring a “To the Point” lecture: “A Solo Practitioner’s Perspective: Why 3D Imaging Is Crucial in Endodontics.”
  1. Supporting endodontic research and education: Of course, advancements in endodontics wouldn’t be possible without countless hours of education and research. That’s why Carestream Dental is proud to have recently donated $125,000 to the Foundation for Endodontics, the philanthropic arm of the American Association of Endodontists. The Foundation ensures the proper stewardship and investment of funds for endodontic research and educational initiatives. Learn more about the donation and the initiatives it supports here.
  1. Endo-specific filters for intraoral systems: In order to improve diagnostic efficiency, the CS Adapt module allows endodontists to set their preferred look and feel when examining radiographs. Of the 40 available pre-set filters, 12 are dedicated specifically for endodontics. The module is available with Carestream Dental’s RVG 6200 intraoral sensor, so doctors can fine-tune their view according to their clinical needs.
  1. Versatile cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) systems: In 2015, the AAE and American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology (AAOMR) updated their joint position statement on the use of CBCT in endodontics. Of the 12 recommendations for when limited FOV CBCT “should be considered the imaging modality of choice,” 10 recommend the use of CBCT over intraoral radiography. Fortunately, Carestream Dental’s CS 8100 3D provides versatile FOVs, high resolution, and endo-specific software to cover the daily diagnostic needs of the endodontic practice. From 8 cm x 9 cm to 5 cm x 5 cm, even 4 cm x 4 cm, endodontists can view the finest details of root and canal morphology to determine the best treatment plan.
  1. EndoHD mode with the CS 8100 3D: EndoHD mode (5 cm x 5 cm) gives endodontists more control over image size, resolution and dose for high-resolution scans. Highly detailed scans can be captured with a 75 µm precision with no additional dose to the patient above the standard 5 cm x 5 cm exam.
